# Carlos Sanchez deal to Marseille on hold

Marseille have placed a deal for Aston Villa midfielder Carlos Sanchez on hold as they contemplate completing other deals before looking into confirming the signing of the Colombian.

[L’Equipe](https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Transfert-l-om-veut-clinton-njie-et-jordan-veretout/707354) report how the French Ligue 1 side are looking at completing other pieces of business before confirming the move for Sanchez which is expected to be for around €2 million from the Championship side.

Sanchez signed for Villa from Elche in 2014, but hasn’t really settled into a regular run of games each of the past two years only making 48 appearances in a claret and blue shirt.

The 30 year old is nicknamed ‘La Roca’ back in his homeland for his robust performances in the heart of Colombia’s midfielder, but the Aston Villa faithful haven’t seen enough of that when on club duty.

If Sanchez was to be depart he would be the second man to do so since Roberto Di Matteo took over as manager.
