# Celtic to go back for Aston Villa man

Celtic will look to up their interest in Aston Villa winger Scott Sinclair with a £3 million move for the former Manchester City man according to reports in Scotland.

The [Sunday Post](https://www.sundaypost.com/sport/celtic-boss-brendan-rodgers-back-hunt-aston-villas-scott-sinclair/) report how Celtic haven’t been put off be a series of knock backs in their pursuit of Sinclair and now they’re willing to offer the £3 million the Villans are looking for that would see the winger leave Villa Park.

Sinclair has worked under Brendan Rodgers before when at Swansea City, where arguably he played the best football of his career.

It is said the potential chance to play Champions League football next season could lure Sinclair away from the Midlands, but they face competition with Aston Villa’s Championship rivals Newcastle United for him.

The 27 year old has made 30 appearances in claret and blue shirt since an initial loan move from Manchester City in January 2015 which was made permanent last summer.
