Aston Villa are willing to hand goalkeeper Brad Guzan a free transfer in order to speed up his potential move to Middlesbrough, according to a report from John Percy of The Telegraph.
Villa have already signed Pierluigi Gollini from Hellas Verona this offseason and it looks like he’ll be the club’s starting goalkeeper next season and they are apparently keen to get Guzan off the wage bill.

However, Middlesbrough are not looking to take Guzan to be a starter, they have signed Victor Valdes for that role, but they are looking for a ‘keeper with Premier League experience to provide backup to the Spaniard.
Guzan still has one year left on his contract at Villa but the club are willing to release him early, forgoing any transfer fee, in order to get the American off the books before the start of the season as Roberto Di Matteo looks to mould his squad in his own image.
