# Celtic confirm interest in Villa man

Scottish Premier League champions Celtic have confirmed their interest in the Aston Villa winger Scott Sinclair.

The [BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36928932) report how the Hoops’ first-team coach John Kennedy revealed that Sinclair was one of numerous players the club were looking at as they look to strengthen their side.

It has been a rumour on going throughout the summer with Celtic reportedly having numerous bids knocked back for Sinclair, who only joined the Villans on a permanent basis last summer from Manchester City.

The 27 year old has made 30 appearances in claret and blue shirt since an initial loan move from Manchester City in January 2015 which was made permanent last summer.

Aston Villa have let Brad Guzan and Jose Angel Crespo already leave this summer with the transfer of Idrissa Gana Gueye to Everton imminent and a serious interest for midfielder Jordan Veretout.

Sinclair could well be another man on his way out of Villa Park.
