# Aston Villa eye up move for Nantes forward

Aston Villa could turn their attention to Nantes forward Yacine Bammou as they look to strengthen their forward line according to a report.

The [Express & Star](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/2016/08/09/transfer-rumours-august-9-2/) suggest that Villa are looking at a move for the Moroccan striker with Jordan Veretout potentially heading the other way.

Bammou, 24, was previously linked to Villa by the [Bristol Post](https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/after-bristol-city-s-jonathan-kodjia-aston-villa-switch-their-focus-to-nantes-striker-yacine-bammou/story-29548679-detail/story.html) towards the end of July when initial enquiries about Bristol City’s Jonathon Kodjia were touted.

He has scored eight times in 69 appearances for Nantes since making his debut in 2014.

A move for Bammou would not come as to much of a surprise for the Villa faithful with Roberto Di Matteo said to be chasing another forward after telling Gabriel Agbonlahor he can leave and letting Scott Sinclair join Celtic.

Rumours have already suggested Villa are looking at Patrick Bamford, Abel Hernandez and Jonathon Kodjia, but a move for a player on the foreign market has been mentioned much less.
