# Aston Villa to sign midfielder before Saturday

Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has revealed the club are closing in on signing a midfielder as Roberto Di Matteo begins to put his squad together.

The Villa owner tweeted earlier this morning that he was hopeful a deal could be completed in time for the player to make his debut on Saturday against Rotherham United.

Rumours have been spreading for a while about Villa’s midfield pursuit after losing Idrissa Gana Gueye to Everton.

Some fans believe it could well be former West Ham and Manchester United midfielder Ravel Morrison with the midfielder recently following the club on different social media platforms.

Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak has also been linked with a move to Villa Park with the Australian midfielder reportedly told he could leave Selhurst Park.
