# Villa willing to sell Westwood to Burnley

Aston Villa are ready to offload midfielder Ashley Westwood to Burnley as they look to build up funds to reshape their squad, according to an report in [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-fund-mile-jedinak-8612635).

Westwood, along with all of Villa’s players, endured a torrid campaign last season as the club were relegated, but it looks like he will for a second bite at the Premier League with the newly promoted side.

It’s no secret that Sean Dyche and the men behind the scenes at Burnley are working had to find new central midfield reinforcements and it looks as though Westwood is the man they’ve identified.

After the EFL Cup loss to Luton Town, Roberto Di Matteo admitted that he still wants to make some changes to his squad and it looks like Westwood will be one of the players who’ll be allowed to leave to create room in the squad for a new addition.
