Ndoye is currently captain at Angers and is seen as the beating heart to their midfield in a defensive set up.

He scored nine times last season in 32 games for the Ligue 1 side and has been linked with moves to Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Stoke City in the past.

The midfielder currently has a year left on his deal in France and a move to England could be on the horizon.

Villa also expected to complete the signing of Mile Jedinak in the coming days.
