# Schalke an option for Amadou Diawara

Schalke are one of the teams that could sign Amadou Diawara from Bologna, although they will have to battle Aston Villa and multiple Serie A teams.

[Sport1](https://www.sport1.de/transfermarkt/2016/08/schalke-04-angeblich-an-amadou-diawara-interessiert) suggests that the 19-year-old is trying to force a move from Bologna after not training with the side, and that local TV station Sport Italia have mentioned Schalke as a possible destination.

There have been multiple reports recently that English side Aston Villa have already offered just shy of £15 million for the midfielder. The side from Birmingham were relegated from the Premier League last season, but now have a new owner.

Another team in the Serie A might be a more interesting option for Diawara. AC Milan and Napoli are mentioned in Sport1’s report, and would mean that the Guinean star would be able to stay in Italy.

The [Birmingham Mail](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-profile-lowdown-reported-11754384) have also said that Roma and Juventus were looking at the midfielder alongside AC Milan, but that the Serie A champions are the only Italian team left in the running.

Diawara spent his first season in the Serie A with Bologna last year, after joining the side from San Marino. While he didn’t score any goals, he impressed fans in his 34 league games.

The 19-year-old wouldn’t be the first teenage signing of Schalke if the rumours are true. Swiss star Breel Embolo joined the Miners in June for a reported €20 million.
