# Aston Villa outcast set for Serie A move

Aston Villa outcast Joleon Lescott could be on his way to the Italian top flight with Pescara close on a move for the defender.

[Di Marzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/news-cat/pescara-un-grande-colpo-per-la-difesa-puo-arrivare-lescott-i-dettagli/) reports that the former Manchester City defender is on his way to the Serie A outfit on Twitter this afternoon.

It has been reported all window that Lescott was not in Roberto Di Matteo’s plans and he would be allowed to leave on a free transfer.

Last week he was linked with a move to Greece with AEK Athens and Olympiacos looking to make a move for the former England man, but now seemingly he will be off to Italy.

The defender joined the Midlands side last summer from [West Bromwich Albion](https://readwestbrom.com/) but has struggled for any form since the move.

He has had the Villa Park faithful on his back for some time after tweeting a picture of a car moments after a 6-0 drubbing to [Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/) during the Villans doomed [Premier League](https://readpl.com/) campaign.
