How Content Are You With Villa’s Transfer Window Activity?

So another transfer window has come and gone and, as expected, it is has been a very busy one for Aston Villa.

After a dreadful 2015/16 Premier League season, Villa came into this transfer window knowing that a lot of rebuilding needed to be done and with 9 new signings joining the club and 14 players sent packing, it is fair to say that Dr. Tony Xia and Roberto Di Matteo have managed to do just that.

Below is a complete rundown of the players that have signed for and left Villa over the transfer period.

Players in:

13. Joleon Lescott left on a free transfer to AEK Athens on the 29th August
14. Adama Traore was sold to Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee (believed to be somewhere around £7 million) on the 31st August

Therefore, Villa’s new owner has spent around £60 million pounds this transfer window. To add to this, with the help of Di Matteo, he has lowered the wage bill by getting rid of some of our highest earners and flops.
