# How Content Are You With Villa’s Transfer Window Activity?

So another transfer window has come and gone and, as expected, it is has been a very busy one for Aston Villa.

After a dreadful 2015/16 [Premier League](https://readpl.com/) season, Villa came into this transfer window knowing that a lot of rebuilding needed to be done and with 9 new signings joining the club and 14 players sent packing, it is fair to say that Dr. Tony Xia and Roberto Di Matteo have managed to do just that.

Below is a complete rundown of the players that have signed for and left Villa over the transfer period.

Players in:

1. Tommy Elphick signed from [Bournemouth](https://readbournemouth.com/) for £3 million on the 20th June
2. Pierluigi Gollini signed from [Hellas Verona](https://readseriea.com/) for £4.1 million on the 8th July
3. Aaron Tshibola signed from [Reading](https://readchampionship.com/) for £5 million on the 10th July

5. James Chester signed from [West Brom](https://readwestbrom.com/) for £8 million on the 12th August
6. Mile Jedinak signed from [Crystal Palace](https://readcrystalpalace.com/) for £4 million on the 17th of August
7. Ritchie De Laet signed from [Leicester](https://readleicester.com/) for £2 million on the 24th August

4. Carles Gil was loaned out to [Deportivo](https://readlaliga.com/) on the 22nd July until the end of the season
5. Brad Guzan left on a free transfer to [Middlesbrough](https://readmiddlesbrough.com/) on the 29th July
6. Idrissa Gueye was sold to [Everton](https://readeverton.com/) for £7.1 million on the 2nd of August
7. Ciaran Clark was sold to [Newcastle](https://readnewcastle.com/) for £5 million on the 3rd of August
8. Scott Sinclair was sold to [Celtic](https://readceltic.com/) for £3.5 million on the 7th August
9. Carlos Sanches was loaned out to [Fiorentina](https://readseriea.com/) on the 10th August until the end of the season

14. Adama Traore was sold to [Middlesbrough](https://readmiddlesbrough.com/) for an undisclosed fee (believed to be somewhere around £7 million) on the 31st August

Therefore, Villa’s new owner has spent around £60 million pounds this transfer window. To add to this, with the help of Di Matteo, he has lowered the wage bill by getting rid of some of our highest earners and flops.
