Aston Villa recorded their third draw of the season when they took on Nottingham Forest at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon.
With less than five minutes of normal time remaining, it had looked like Gestede’s acrobatic finish in the 74th minute was going to earn Villa their second win of the campaign. It would have been a deserved three points as they completely outplayed Forest from start to finish. However, it was an all too familiar sight for Villa fans when Lansbury equalised with only three minutes of normal time remaining.
Villa had 26 shots in the match and scored two goals whilst Forest had only three shots and scored two. Once again, Villa’s failure to take their many chances has cost them valuable points.
However, there is no time to dwell on this as the games come thick and fast in the Championship, and next up is Brentford at home on Wednesday evening.
There is some positive injury news for Villa as Jedinak will be available for selection whilst Tshibola, who has missed the last three games due to injury, is pushing for a return to the side.
However, Adomah, who picked up a knock a few days ago is unlikely to feature whilst Gollini, who was kicked in the throat against Forest and had to be replaced at half time, is also a doubt.
In this slideshow, I have selected the XI players that I believe will start against Brentford at Villa Park on Wednesday evening
