Aston Villa made it seven draws in 10 games when they conceded (yet again) in the dying stages of the game against Barnsley. This now means that in the opening ten games of this season they have conceded a late equaliser in the 85th, 86th, 87th, 88th and 89th minute.
Us Villa fans will be hoping that the trend does not continue and that we are at least two goals up against Preston before the clock ticks in to the 90th minute. With 10 points from 10 games Villa are seven points off of a play-off place and are already 10 points off of automatic promotion. More worryingly, we are only two points adrift of relegation. Therefore, it is paramount that we pick up all three points this weekend against a Preston side that sits two places below us (albeit, they have 10 points too).
Di Matteo will have almost everyone available for the game at Deepdale on Saturday evening. The only players who will be missing are long term absentees Libor Kozak and Ritchie De Laet. Bacuna also misses out due to suspension.
Ahead of the game at Deepdale, we have tried to predict the line-up that we think that Roberto Di Matteo will select. It was quite a tricky task too.
We think that he will use a 4-2-3-1 formation. Here’s the team!
