So Steve Bruce’s tenure as Aston Villa owner started off with yet another draw; this time against Wolves at Villa Park. This now means that out of 12 league games, they have drawn eight, won one and lost three.
If truth be told, this was a point that Aston Villa did not deserve as they were pretty poor for the majority of this match. If Wolves had walked away from Villa Park with all three points, it would have been nothing less than they deserved.
Before the game, Villa were sitting in the relegation zone and this undeserved point at least means that Villa fans do not have to suffer the ignominy of seeing their side in the bottom three. Every cloud has a silver lining and all that…
Games come thick and fast in this league and Villa have a tricky away game against Reading on Tuesday. One thing is for certain, if they play like this on Tuesday night, they will not be coming away with a point.
Bruce certainly has a lot of work to do!
