# Villa linked with Luxembourg international Jans

Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Southampton target Laurent Jans, according to [Le Quotodien](https://www.lequotidien.lu/football/laurent-jans-desormais-suivi-de-tout-pres-par-stuttgart-et-aston-villa/); a leading news source in the defenders’ native Luxembourg.

Jans has been in good form for Waasland-Beveren so far this season in the Belgian Pro League and his efforts haven’t gone unnoticed, with a flock of interest now forming.

Premier League outfit Southampton are looking into signing the Luxembourg international but will be rivalled in their chase by Huddersfield, Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen, Anderlecht and of course Aston Villa.

The report states that Jans will cost no more than £1 million if any club decides to move in for the defender, providing a cheap option to any potential suitors.

The 24-year-old has burst onto the scene in the opening months of the season and has flourished, attracting plenty of keen interest from some top European clubs.

Steve Bruce may look at the possibility of signing Jans to bolster his defence.
