International football is over and it means that Villa return to action this weekend, taking on Brighton and Hove Albion.
Luckily for Steve Bruce, it seems that all of the players who were out on international duty have returned relatively unscathed. However, one cause for concern is Jordan Amavi, who picked up a small knock with the France U21s squad. However, Jedinak, although not injured, will not be available to play as Bruce has given him more time to recover from his flight back from Australia.
Villa’s opponents on Friday evening are high-flying Brighton. Chris Hughton’s side are currently sitting second in the table on 34 points, just three points below league leaders Newcastle. This will no doubt be a tricky game for Villa, but another win could see Villa reach as high as u 8th in the table and only two points away from a play-off position.
Here is our predicted Villa XI to face Brighton on Friday evening. We believe that Bruce will stick with his tried and tested 4-5-1 formation.
