Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa side kept their unbeaten record alive with a 1-1 draw against high-fliers Brighton and Hove Albion last Friday evening. It was another solid performance from the Villans and, if truth be told, they were unlucky not to walk away with all three points.
Next up for Villa is a home match against Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon. The Bluebirds have been pretty inconsistent this season and they sit four points and five places below Villa in the table after collecting five wins, three draws and nine losses from their opening 17 games. However, under new manager Neil Warnock, they have only lost two of their last six games.
This, like most games in this league, will not be an easy game, but it will be one which Villa and their fans will be expecting to win. If they do manage to win, and other results go their way, they could be sitting just two points off a play-off position come Sunday evening.
Here is our predicted Villa XI to face Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon.
We believe that Bruce will stick with the 4-3-3 formation he tried out against Brighton.
