# Villa Planning Audacious Bid for Ghanaian International

Aston Villa are [reportedly](https://www.footballghana.com/latest-news/aston-villa-planning-audacious-bid-ghana-international-jeffrey-schlupp/) planning an audacious £12 million bid for out of favour [Leicester City](https://readleicester.com/) winger Jeffrey Schlupp.

During the second half of the season, Villa will be looking to push on towards a play-off place in order to secure promotion at the first time of asking, and, to achieve this, they are looking to sign players who have proven themselves in the top flight of English football. Schlupp, a regular during [Leicester’s](https://readleicester.com/) [Premier League](https://readpl.com/) winning season last year, certainly fits this bill.

The 23-year-old, who has the versatility to play as left winger or as an attacking left wing-back, has been frustrated by the lack of opportunities he has had to play this season – he has only featured in 4 league matches. Therefore, he would probably be open to a move away, but whether it’s to Villa Park depends completely on whether Bruce can persuade him to drop down a division.

Villa will not go unrivaled in their pursuit of Schlupp as [West Brom](https://readwestbrom.com/) are also interested in the Ghanaian international. In fact, Pulis has tried to bring Schlupp to The Hawthorns during the past two transfer windows.

It is highly likely that Schlupp will leave The Foxes this January, the only question is, where to?
