The third-round for the FA Cup gets under way this weekend and Villa’s opposition are high-flying Tottenham Hotspur. The match will be played at White Hart Lane on Sunday at 4pm.
Spurs have been on a great run as of late and, come Sunday, they will still be bouncing from stopping their arch-rivals Chelsea from creating a new Premier League record of 14 wins in a row. They played Chelsea off the park on Wednesday evening and fully deserved their 2-0 victory.
Villa, after their disappointing 1-0 loss to Cardiff City on Monday, will be hoping to get back to winning ways at the weekend, or at least show the level that they are capable of playing at, and give Spurs a decent game. One thing is for certain, if Villa play the way they did in that dreadful first-half against Cardiff, Spurs will be walking towards the fourth round with about 5 goals behind them.
Most Villa fans will not be expecting Villa to walk away from this game with a win, but all that they will be asking for is that the players put in a performance that shows that they care.
