# Villa Set To Miss Out on Leicester Man

According to a report in [The Birmingham Mail](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-news-aston-villa-interested-12429404), Aston Villa have thrown their name into the hat for Leicester’s left-side player Jeffrey Schlupp.

Schlupp, who is very much so out of favour at Leicester, is all but set to leave the club this month in search of regular first team football. The Ghanaian is also wanted by Crystal Palace, who have had a £9 million pound rejected. It is believed the West Bromich Albion are at the front of the queue for his signature.

Pulis is a long-term admirer of Schlupp, who is able to play at left-back or left midfield, and he has revived his interest in him this month. Albion made a few bids for him last summer, increasing their bid up to £12 million, but Leicester rejected them all.

Leicester are now willing to listen to similar offers, although it is understood that a fee is yet to have been agreed between the two sides.

Bruce has inquired about Schlupp as he is looking to strengthen his side so that they can have a decent crack at getting a Championship play-off place, but Albion’s status as a Premier League club has given them the edge over their local rivals.
