# Anton Donkor confirms his agent is in talks with Aston Villa

Wolfsburg midfielder Anton Donkor has confirmed that his agent has held talks with Aston Villa about a possible transfer and that he is interested in making a switch to join the Championship side.

Speking to [Sport Buzzer](https://www.sportbuzzer.de/artikel/wolfsburgs-donkor-auf-die-insel-das-ware-toll/), Donkor said:

> My agent has had contact with Aston Villa. In order to further develop myself, a loan to England would surely be a good thing.

The 19-year-old first caught the eye of Villa scouts when he played in the UEFA Youth Champions League and they’ve been keeping tabs on him ever since.

According to the report, the German U20 star has been told that he is not in first team contention at the moment, which may explain why he is keen to make a switch to England.

Steve Bruce must be considering getting him in the first team mix if he can get a deal done, although with the player at such a young age, it’d probably be in a bit-part capacity as Villa look to make a push for the playoffs.

The player spoke about making a loan move but it’s thought that Villa want him on a permanent deal.
