# Midfielder Is Going Nowhere According To His Family

According a report in the [Birmingham Mail](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-transfers-jack-grealish-12520470), Jack Grealish’s family have confirmed that he will not be going anywhere this January.

The past week there has been widespread [speculation](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-ready-offer-jack-9703733) that Villa were willing to give Grealish to Middlesbrough in return for Rhodes and some cash. Bruce has been desperately trying to sign the Scotland international this month in an attempt to boost the firepower that he has available to him, but Middlesbrough have rejected both of their cash offers so far. The [Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/582831/Aston-Villa-Middlesbrough-Transfer-News-Jordan-Rhodes-Jack-Grealish-swap) were even reporting this morning that Villa were also willing to do a straight swap deal for Rhodes.

However, Grealish’s dad, Kevin, an Aston Villa fanatic, has taken to social media to confirm that the youngster will not be moving to the Riverside. Posting on his Facebook page this morning he wrote:

> “Its a NO NO. Boro. Upthevilla.”

Grealish signed a new contract last September that will keep him at his boyhood club until the summer of 2020. However, with the arrival of three talented midfielders, he now faces stiff competition to retain his place as a regular in Bruce’s starting XI.

Although, having said that, the competition could, in the end, do him the world of good.
