# Predicted Villa XI: Brentford (A)

To the delight of all Villa fans, four new signings have walked into Villa Park over the past week, and we could see one or two more before the Transfer Window closes at 11pm on Tuesday.

Villa went into January needing to completely revamp their weak and uncreative midfield and they have done just that by signing Henri Lansbury, Conor Hourihane, and Birkir Bjarnason. With Hourihane and Lansbury, Villa have two players who have scored 12 goals and provided 15 assists between them in the Championship this season. Bjarnason, who signed for Swiss side FC Basel, has scored 4 goals and provided 2 assists in 14 league matches in the Super League. To go along with these midfielders, Bruce has also signed a highly-rated right back in James Bree.

Villa, due to Bristol City’s FA Cup commitments, have had the weekend off which means that these new signings have had a couple more days to get to know their new teammates and settle in at the club.

To add to these signings, Jonathan Kodjia, Villa’s top scorer this season, has returned from international duty earlier than expected after the Ivory Coast were knocked out of the AFCON in the group stages. As a result, he should be available for Villa’s next match.

Villa play Brentford away on Tuesday evening (7.45pm kick-off) and we fully expect there to be quite a few changes from the last match against Preston. Here’s our predicted Villa XI for Tuesday night.
