# Villa Sign Scott Hogan from Brentford

Brentford forward Scott Hogan has completed his move to Aston Villa following a 4 week saga surrounding the talented striker’s future.

Steve Bruce, a huge admirer of the 24-year-old, has won the race to sign him after West Ham recently pulled out of the running for his signature.

Hogan arrived at Bodymoor Heath for a medical earlier yesterday and, after having passed it, he has now put pen to paper on a 4-and-a-half year deal. The deal is believed to have cost Villa around £12m – an initial £9 million followed up with £3m worth of add-ons.

Although this is a considerable sum, Villa have financed most of this deal by selling Westwood to Burnley for £5m and Jordan Ayew to Swansea for £5m (and Neil Taylor).

Hogan has been in terrific form this season, having scored 14 goals in 25 appearances, and Villa will be hoping that he can form a prolific partnership up front with Jonathan Kodjia. Should the pair click, Villa might just find themselves fighting for a play-off position come the end of the season.
