# Predicted Villa XI: Ipswich

Villa’s slim hopes of a play-off position more than likely disappeared over the horizon on Saturday evening thanks to yet another damaging defeat. This time, it was a 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest that deprived Villa of 3 vital points.

Villa fans will argue that they deserved to get something out of the match and they’d be correct to say so, but it is individual errors that are costing Villa dear, especially in the goalkeeping department. Johnstone has had, to put it frankly, a shocking start to his Villa career and he found himself gifting the opposition yet another goal on Saturday. Villa’s keepers have cost the team 11 vital points this season already. However, the keepers aren’t solely to blame. Villa had looked the most likely team to score until Grealish went and got himself sent off for two bookable offences. This red card changed the game and Villa weren’t able to hang on for a draw.

As a result of this loss, Villa now sit 13 points off of the 6th and final play-off position. They will need to go on an amazing run of wins and hope other results go in their favour if they are to get anywhere close to the play-off positions this season.

Next up for Villa is a home match against Ipswich on Saturday afternoon at 3pm. Ipswich are currently two places below Villa, but they are equal on points. If Villa lose this, they might start looking over their shoulders instead of looking up.

We fully expect Bruce to stick with the 3-5-2 formation he used against Nottingham Forest.

Here’s our predicted Villa XI for Tuesday night.
