Aston Villa Player Ratings: Huddersfield (A)

Aston Villa’s run of successive victories came to an end after they lost 1-0 to promotion chasing Huddersfield Town at The John Smith’s Stadium on Tuesday night.

Tommy Smith’s 69th minute low effort was enough to decide the game, putting a halt to Villa’s three game winning streak.

After the game, Steve Bruce bemoaned his side’s finishing and said that the game was there to be won if his players would have taken their chances.

The defeat leaves Villa in 15th place in the Championship table with them facing another promotion contender, Sheffield Wednesday, this weekend.
