Villa’s three match winning streak came to an end on Tuesday evening thanks to a narrow 1-0 defeat to automatic promotion-chasing side Huddersfield.
Villa played pretty well throughout most of the game, and Huddersfield couldn’t have had any complaints if Villa walked away from the Kirkless Stadium with a draw, or even all three points. However, as has been the case all season, Villa’s profligacy in front of goal cost them dearly. Throughout the game, Villa had 9 shots on goal, but only one of these was on target.
However, Villa do not have time to dwell on this narrow (and undeserved) defeat, as they have yet another game on Saturday afternoon against Sheffield Wednesday at Villa Park. This will be Villa’s 6th game in 19 days. Like Huddersfield, Wednesday are chasing a play-off position, so this is bound to be another tricky tie for them.
