Villa player ratings: Fulham (A)

Aston Villa put in their second poor display in as many days as they went down 3-1 to Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Villa, just like in the match against Reading, were second best from the first whistle right up until the last. Villa’s defence, especially  Amavi and Bree could not cope with Fulham’s accuracy, pace, and movement in attack. Amavi, as you will see in the ratings below, put in another performance that will have fans questioning whether he has any future at Villa Park.

Fulham took the lead on the 17th minute, and things got a lot worse for Villa when Kodjia was, harshly in our opinion, sent off after seeming to kick out at Fredericks after the pair had a tussle. Fredericks himself had aimed a kick at the Ivorian while falling to the floor.

Villa got their equalizer in the 50th minute when Grealish bent in a stunning effort from the left-hand side of the box. However, the joy was short-lived as Fulham regained the lead just 6 minutes later. The three points for Fulham were signed and delivered when Kebano scored in the 79th minute.

Here are our Villa player ratings for today’s match.
