# Samba to play in Villa pre-season tour

According to [The Birmingham Mail](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/transfer-news-aston-villa-tracking-12947460), Chris Samba will play for Aston Villa in their pre-season tour this summer in a bid to earn a contract.

Samba has been training with the Villa first team in order to keep up his fitness and possibly earn himself a contract and he will be taking part in the club’s pre-season activities this summer as he looks to secure a deal.

Samba has been without a club since he left Panathinaikos in January and is now looking to find a new club as quickly as possible.

Villa are in the market for central defensive reinforcements this summer and Samba could be a cheap, experienced, option for Steve Bruce to bolster his ranks.

Samba has seven years of Premier League experience, having been at Blackburn and QPR in the past so is already well accustomed to English football.
