# Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday eyeing Hutton move

Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland are eyeing up a move for Aston Villa right-back Alan Hutton.

[The Birmingham Mail](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/latest-update-alan-huttons-aston-13396643) claims that the two Championship outfits are monitoring Hutton ahead of a potential move for the defender.

The report also claims that there has been no official offer, as of yet, for Hutton and he is preparing for another season with Villa.

Steve Bruce is open to Hutton leaving, with the club willing to listen to offers for the fullback.

Hutton, however, is said to be focussing on Villa and is not thinking about a transfer away from the club this summer.

The 32-year-old made 34 Championship appearances for Villa last season, his most league run outs in a single campaign for the club.

Hutton has been at Villa since 2011, making 134 appearances for the club in that time.

The right-back has 50 caps for Scotland but looks to be pushed out of the Villa team for the coming season by the signing of Ahmed Elmohamady from Hull.
