# Villa struggling to sell McCormack

Aston Villa are struggling to find a new club for striker Ross McCormack this summer, according to [The Mirror.](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-news-live-arsenal-manchester-10878264)

The report claims that Aston Villa have listed McCormack for transfer this window but there is a distinct lack of clubs willing to sign him.

There are, however, teams who are eyeing up loan bids for McCormack but Villa want to move him on permanently.

Nottingham Forest and Sunderland are both said to be interested in securing the Scotsman on a short-term deal.

The Mirror claims that McCormack is on £50k-per-week at the club after signing from Fulham last year.

Villa signed McCormack for £12m in the summer of 2016 as they looked to win promotion back to the Premier League.

McCormack scored just three goals all season and Villa finished mid-table in the Championship.

The Scottish international spent the second half of the season on loan to Nottingham Forest but failed to really impress.
