# Young Villa striker suffers injury setback in friendly

Villa youngster Rushian Hepburn-Murphy suffered more [injury frustration](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villas-rushian-hepburn-murphy-13402530) when he was forced to limp out of Villa’s U23 pre-season friendly against Tamworth tonight.

The 18-year-old, who has only just returned to action due to a hamstring problem that he picked up over the summer, had to be taken off in the 55th minute of the match.

The talented teenage striker scored in his comeback game against Stoke during the week, and he looked pretty sharp for the time he was on the pitch at The Lamb Ground.

Hepburn-Murphy, who had four fine opportunities to score, found himself on the end of a strong tackle at the beginning of the second-half, and not long after he signaled to the bench that he could not carry on playing any longer. He was replaced by Corey Blackett-Taylor.

It’s not known yet how serious the injury is, but Hepburn-Murphy will be hoping it’s not one that keeps him out for long as he is looking to make an impact on Bruce’s first team squad this season.
