# Villa Predicted XI: Hull (H)

Aston Villa kick off their 2017-18 Championship campaign on Saturday with a home match against recently relegated Hull City.

Steve Bruce and his side will be hoping that it’s second time lucky as they aim to win promotion back to the Premier League after their fall from grace just over 12 months ago.

Villa strengthened their squad back in January, but even with a late surge, it was not enough to see them push for a play-off place. This summer they have brought in some experience with the likes of John Terry, Christopher Samba, Glenn Whelan, and Ahmed Elmohamady.

Villa finihsed their pre-season preparation with a 0-0 draw against Watford, and they will be looking to get off to the best possible start this weekend.

Last season, after  a poor first half of the season, they ended up finishing 13th, and this will not be good enough come May next year. Anything less than a play-off place will be considered a huge failure.

Here’s our predicted Villa XI for the game at the weekend:
