Bruce wants striker in by the end of the month
Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce says that he wants to sign a new striker before the end of the month.
Bruce feels his side is lacking a cutting edge going forward and that he needs a new foil up front.
Villa have scored two goals in their opening two Championship matches, against Hull and Reading.
Speaking to the Birmingham Mail, Bruce said this:
We need to score, we need to really look at what we’ve got at the top end of the pitch because without Kodjia at the moment we are a bit toothless I have to say that.
We have to try to address that if we can.
Last season’s top scorer Jonathan Kodjia is currently sidelined with injury and Scott Hogan went off injured in the first-half against Reading.
That potentially leaves Gabriel Agbonlahor, the scorer of half of Villa’s league goals this season, and Ross McCormack as Bruce’s options.
McCormack is currently frozen out of the first-team picture as he looks set to leave the club before the end of the month.
Bruce is now looking to add another forward to the ranks before the end of the window in just over two weeks time.
