With the international break finished, our attention turns back to the Championship as Aston Villa head to the Molineux to play Wolves on Saturday evening.
Before the break for the World Cup Qualifiers, Villa had shot up the table thanks to a run of five wins and three draws in eight matches – they now sit just one point outside the play-off places and just four points off of an automatic qualification spot.
However, Steve Bruce and his team will know that they’re going to have to be at their very best if they hope to take all three points back to Birmingham. Wolves have been in great form as of late, and they currently sit in second place in the table, just a point off top spot.
Villa’s line-up has been picking itself recently, but due to Neil Taylor’s suspension, Bruce is going to have to make at least one change.
Here’s our predicted Villa XI for Saturday;s clash with Wolves:
GK: Sam Johnstone
Has been in fine form this season and there’s no way that he will be dropped for this one.
RB: Ahmed Elmohamady
Has been solid at right-back, and we reckon Bruce will stick with him for this one
CB: John Terry
Has been immense at the back for Villa over the last 7 games or so, and, as captain, he is one of the first names on the team sheet.
CB: James Chester
Is forming a fantastic partnership with Terry, and Bruce won’t want to split up what is probably the best center-back pairing in the league.
LB: Ritchie De Laet
With Taylor suspended for three matches, we reckon Bruce will call on De Laet to fill the void.
RM: Robert Snodgrass
Has started to show the potential we all know he possesses, and it would be a surprise to see him not make the staring line-up for this clash.
CM: Glenn Whelan
With Jedinak unlikely to be fully fit in time for this one, it’s highly likely that Whelan will start.
CM: Conor Hourihane
Hourihane is one of Villa’s most creative midfielders, and Bruce will be hoping that he can help unlock Wolves’ defence.
LM: Albert Adomah
Before the international break, Adomah was in the form of his life, and he should definitely be starting on Saturday.
ST: Keinan Davis
Davis has been a revelation for Villa, and he should be rewarded with yet another start.
ST: Jonathan Kodjia
Needs game time to get back to his best, and we reckon he will get at least another 60 minutes here.
