Aston Villa earned another comfortable three points on Saturday afternoon thanks to a 2-0 win over Ipswich at Villa Park.

This victory, courtesy of yet another brace from Albert Adomah, moves Villa to just two points off an automatic qualification spot. However, Cardiff City have a game in hand against Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.

Villa started off slowly and Joel Garner thought he had put the visitors ahead in the 15th minute, but his goal was ruled out (perhaps a bit harshly) for a slight shove on Sam Johnstone.

The home side started to dominate after this let-off, and their pressure paid off in the 36th minute when Adomah poked home. Ipswich were struggling to create any clear-cut opportunity, and Adomah put the game beyond all doubt when he converted a fine pass from Robert Snodgrass.
