# Villa predicted XI: Brentford (A)

Aston Villa looked to be heading towards a very valuable three points on Saturday evening when they led 2-0 against Sheffield United after just ten minutes.

However, some dodgy defending by make-shift center back Mile Jedinak allowed Clayton Donaldson to score a brace and earn his side an important point.

This costly slip up now means that Villa have only picked up three points from a possible twelve in December. Definitely not the type of form that earns you an automatic qualification spot.

Villa, thanks to Leeds’ win against Hull, dropped down to the final play-off position, which they only occupy thanks to their slightly superior goal difference to Sheffield United.

Next up for Villa is a tricky away trip to Brentford, who are currently just seven points behind Villa in the table. A slip up here could see them drop to tenth in the table.

Here is our predicted Villa XI for Tuesday’s Boxing Day game against Brentford.
