Aston Villa need Bolton bounce back
With the race for automatic promotion so tight, there isn’t a margin for error and Aston Villa need to pick themselves up after their disappointing loss to QPR and get a result in the their Saturday evening game against Bolton.
Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City side picked up another three points in their midweek tie at Brentford to put them seven points ahead of Villa in second and the in-form Fulham are biting at Villa’s heels, sitting behind them in fourth by just a mere point.
This makes Villa’s trip to Bolton crucial as they need to get over their blip against QPR and pick up a much needed three points if they are to keep pace with Cardiff and not lose any ground to a revitalised Fulham.
Villa have been in fantastic form in the business end of the season but complacency set in against Ian Holloway’s QPR and they were punished as a result.
This defeat should show the squad that they can’t take their foot of the gas against any opponent and need to play at 100% in every game. This could possibly be the wake-up call that they needed to spur them on to gain promotion.
Bolton come into Saturdays’ game in reasonable form but Villa’s quality should see them pick up the needed result, however, if they don’t improve from their midweek defeat to QPR, they could be in for a torrid time on Saturday.
