# Axel Tuanzebe re-joins Villa on season-long loan

Championship side Aston Villa have secured the loan signing of young Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe.

The central defender spent time on loan at Villa Park last season and helped the side to the play-off final. The news was confirmed by the official Aston Villa and Manchester United social media accounts.

However, he picked up an injury which resulted in him missing several matches but manager Steve Bruce was happy enough with what he saw of the defender to sign him again.

Tuanzebe played for Jose Mourinho’s men during their tour of the USA but knows that he will have limited playing time if he stays at Old Trafford.

When speaking about the loan move on the [official club website](https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2018/08/06/breaking-news-axel-tuanzebe-rejoins), Tuanzebe said:

> It’s great to be back. This is a big, big club and to represent it again is a big honour for me.

> It made perfect sense for me to return for the season ahead. I know my way around the place now and owe a lot to the great people who’ve really looked after me.

> It was a no-brainer and now the ambition remains the same as last season – to reach the Premier League. I believe the squad we have here are more than capable of achieving it and playing at that level.

Tuanzebe is highly rated by the coaches at United and is tipped to have a very bright future at the club.
