Villa’s 100% start to the season came to a halt on Saturday afternoon as they failed to make their numerical advantage count against Ipswich.
It was a lacklustre display from Bruce’s men, and he will be hoping that they put in a much better display on Wednesday against Brentford. He will know that failure to do so will more than likely end up in a heavy defeat.
Brentford like to play at a fast pace and this has caused Villa problems whenever they have met in the Championship. In fact, since their return to the Championship, Villa have yet to beat the Londoners – they have lost two and drawn two.
Therefore, Bruce will need to get his team selection spot on if his team are to leave Villa Park with a vital three points on Wednesday evening. Lose here, and some fans will start questioning whether Bruce is the right man for the job.
Here’s our predicted XI for Wednesday’s match against Brentford.
