# Villa to finalise Anwar El Ghazi deal today

Aston Villa hope to finalise a deal to sign Lille winger Anwar El Ghazi on loan today, with talks set to continue with the French side.

[France Football reports](https://www.francefootball.fr/news/Anwar-el-ghazi-lille-vers-aston-villa/932661) that a loan with an option to buy is being discussed, with Lille needing to offload players to balance the books.

El Ghazi is one of the many first-team players that have been deemed surplus to requirements in a major squad shake-up.

The Ligue 1 side need to raise just shy of €30 million before the end of the month and plan to do so by selling the likes of El Ghazi, Nicolas Pépé and Loïc Rémy as well as other first-team players.

The Dutch international would join Villa with plenty of pedigree, spending most of his youth career in the Netherlands, he came through the ranks at Ajax.

Back in 2015, he was named Ajax’s Talent of the Year. El Ghazi only joined Lille back in January 2017, for a fee of around €8 million, but now looks set for another move.
