# This is the reason why Bolasie decided on a move to Villa

According to the [Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/725594/Aston-Villa-news-Yannick-Bolasie-Middlesbrough-Steve-Bruce-Tony-Pulis-Championship-Everton), Yannick Bolasie, who completed his season-long loan move to Villa Park this morning, has promised that he will do his utmost to ensure that Villa are playing in the Premier League next season.

The winger, who can play on either flank, has been at Everton for the last two years, but a serious cruciate knee ligament injury, that he picked up while playing against [Manchester United](https://readmanutd.com/) in December 2016, meant that he had to undergo two major operations and miss over a year of football.

[Everton](https://readeverton.com/) manager Marco Silva, for one reason or another, does not rate Bolasie so he made him available for a loan move.

Middlesbrough were the original favourites to seal a deal for him, as Tony Pulis worked with the Congo international when he was manager of Crystal Palace. However, after weighing up his options, the 29-year-old decided that a move to Villa Park was the correct choice for him.

During his first interview as a Villa player, he said:

> My main aim here is to get this club promoted – a club of this stature has to be in the Premier League. I looked around both Villa Park and the training ground, and me and my family just said “wow!” It’s Premier League everywhere you look.
>
> I’m here to make myself smile again and use all my ability to try and help the team. It’s great to be here. It’s definitely a Premier League Club. I’m not saying the other clubs aren’t, but this felt like a Premier League club. Also, more of my family get to come and watch as well.

Bolaise won’t be able to play in today’s game against Reading, but he could make his debut when Villa take on Burton in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
