# Bruce set to miss out on Chelsea striker

Aston Villa have been heavily linked with a loan move for Tammy Abraham this month, with some reports even suggesting that a deal was being finalised, but according to the[Daily Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tammy-abraham-set-snub-aston-13139734), the 20-year-old looks set to reject a move to Steve Bruce’s team as he wants to fight for a starting place at Chelsea.

Abraham hasn’t featured for Chelsea so far this season, and he currently sits behind Morata and Giroud in the pecking order. However, there are some rumours floating about that seem to suggest that new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri doesn’t rate Giroud.

Therefore, if these rumours are true, Abraham might feel that he has a very good chance of getting regular playing time in the Premier League this season.

Abraham spent the 2016-17 season in the Championship on loan at Bristol, and he netted a pretty impressive 23 goals. He spent the following season on loan at Swansea in the Premier League, but he scored just 5 goals in 31 appearances.

It now looks like he is intent on working his way into Sarri’s starting team and showing everyone that last season was just a blip.
