Aston Villa picked up another point thanks to a 1-1 draw with Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Friday, but it was a game that will not live long in the memory of anyone who was unfortunate enough to watch it.
The game was lacking in any real quality, ideas, flow, and entertainment. You would think that a bunch of players each earning (and I use this word lightly) five figure salaries per week would be able to bring themselves to serve up something worth watching.
In fact, the spectacle was that bad that everyone in the stadium would have been forgiven if they all got up with 30 minutes to go so that they could get a few extra pints in before heading off home.
This boring draw now means that Steve Bruce’s side have only won one game out of their last 9, and if they make it one win from their last 10 on Tuesday when they take on Preston, it really will be a surprise to see Bruce in charge for the following game.
