Rumour has it that Steve Bruce has been given just two games to save his job, and the first of those is a home game against Preston North End on Tuesday evening.
If Bruce had the option of picking the two teams that Villa will play against to save his career, you could probably bet your life savings that one of the teams he would have chosen would be Preston.
If Villa have had a bad start to the season, then The Lilywhites have had a shocking start. In their opening 10 games they have picked up just five points, and three of those came on the opening day of the season.
However, this is a double-edged sword for Bruce. Alex Neil’s side might represent a very good chance to pick up three points , but should Villa lose, it will be difficult to find a Villa fan who is still on his side.
