Aston Villa have confirmed that they have appointed Dean Smith as the man to replace Steve Bruce

The 47-year-old, who just so happens to be a boyhood Aston Villa fan, has been in charge at Brentford for the last three years and during his tenure there he turned them into an attack-minded team that are exciting to watch.

Villa fans will be hoping that he can do the same with their club as the football had become rather boring and nerve-wrecking under the extremely defensive Bruce.

His assistant manager will be none other than Chelsea legend and ex-Villa captain John Terry. This is a smart move from the Villa owners as Terry will bring a wealth of defensive experience to a backline that has been looking devoid of any confidence as of late.
