Dean Smith’s Aston Villa kick off another round of Championship fixtures this weekend as they take on Bolton at Villa Park on Friday night.
Smith’s team have lost their last two matches against in-form Norwich and QPR, but it is quite clear that the players are slowly coming to grips with the way that he wants them to play.
They currently have 18 points from their opening 15 games, and although there are still 93 points to play for this season, Smith’s side really need to pick up all three points against Bolton so they are not cut further adrift of the play-offs.
It is even more imperative when you see the tough run of fixtures they have over the next couple of months.
Bolton are currently sitting two points below Villa, having scored just 11 goals so far this season, while having conceded 20.
