He played the full 90 minutes of Villa’s 3-0 win over Derby in the league last weekend, and showed little sign on an injury.

However, Dean Smith may now be sweating over his fitness ahead of the return to league action next week.

The 29-year-old, Taylor, has been capped 41 times by Wales and was expected to get some game time over the international break, but will now instead return to Villa for treatment.
