Aston Villa claimed bragging rights over Birmingham City on Sunday afternoon, but the players have got to put that behind them now as they have another tricky game waiting for them on Wednesday evening.
Dean Smith’s men take on Nottingham Forest at Villa Park knowing that a fourth win in a row could see them move to within one point of the play-off places and four points from automatic qualification. Obviously, this all depends on results elsewhere.
The bookmakers are heavily favouring the home side for this clash, but Smith and his players won’t be taking anything for granted.
Aitor Karanka’s men have been on a fine run of form as of late and have picked up three wins and two draws from their last five matches. They are currently sitting three points ahead of Villa in the table.
